New Artist - Walt Evans

Walt Evans CD

What the many Walt Evans fans know is that he is country right down to the soles of his cowboy boots. He has a deep rich soothing voice that smoothly delivers a country ballad, as well as the growl in his voice when he belts out a boot kickin’ song. No matter what he sings everyone wants to get up and dance. You see smile after smile in the many venues he places. He is a warm caring person who can sing his songs with such passion in his voice because he has lived life just as his audience has, they relate to what he delivers and they love him for that. Audiences leave his show with a smile on their face and a song in their heart.

Walt was blessed with the most beautiful voice and writing abilities. It all started at a young age in grade school when the teacher asked him to sing, “The Yellow Rose of Texas” and of course country music played at home daily. His mother Phyllis, had a beautiful voice and sang while doing her daily cleaning and cooking and Walt’s uncles sang and picked. Walt carries and cherishes these memories everyday.

Walt grew up in the small farming community of Reese Michigan. Hard work was no stranger to him. He worked the land, took care of daily chores and played his guitar and sang. When his children’s mother passed away at a young age he put his dream aside and worked at the local auto factory and provided a good life for his little son and daughter living in the beautiful countryside of Saginaw Michigan only 8 miles from where he grew up as a child. In fact he still lives there today. The dream never left his heart of one day being up on that big stage for the world to hear and see him perform the songs that were still inside.

And sing he did. Recently, his star as a country music singer began shining more brightly. In 2006, Walt was honored with his induction into the Michigan Country Music Hall of Fame. He was voted in by numerous fans and peers. For Walt it’s all about the people, he cares deeply. He has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for people in need at numerous benefits and from his own pockets at his own shows. Walt consistently promotes and performs country music with sincere enthusiasm and remarkable passion. Since last year, he has also opened shows for Chris Cagle, Stella Parton, Tommy Cash, George Hamilton IV and Dave Caley.

Moving even higher up the ladder toward country music stardom this year, Walt has recorded an album at the famous Buck’s Place in Tennessee. He worked on his first album to be released worldwide with Jim Vest, leader of the world famous Nashville Cats as his producer, Jim and Buck Jarrell of Buck’s Place put together the most highly talented musicians of the who’s who list and they worked with Earl Owens of Texas-based BSW Records, an internationally known and highly respected record label with a global reach of more than 30 countries on five continents. The album, titled “Country Dreams” is scheduled for worldwide release on October 15, 2007.

Walt’s dream is now fully awakened and he will have his long-delayed place in the sun and his time in the bright lights of many stages. He has come full circle. BSW Records is happy to be part of seeing a good man realize his dream and the world of country music is a better place because of Walt Evans and his music.
