CALVIN RAY RECEIVES SEVERAL AWARDS AT MDA BENEFIT

The Epiphone Guitar Company (A Division of Gibson Musical Instruments) presented Calvin Ray the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award for his accomplishments in the world of music as well as his humanitarian work with the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA), and his countless contributions of time and talent to raise funds for MDA and the programs they provide.

In addition, Calvin also works diligently is a driving force within his community to help in any possible manner, for any possible cause.

The award was presented at the historic Nashville Palace Club in Nashville TN Epiphone Representatives on the 26th of August, 2007.

The list of attendees at the MDA benefit hosted by Mr. Calvin Ray, includes legendary performers, Stu Phillips, The LeGarde Twins, Jack Green, Tommy Cash, as well as Jim Vest and the famous Nashville Cats Band, comprised of Nashville leading session musicians. The Lovin Spoonful wrote a song about this band which was listed # 8 on Billboard charts in 1967.

Epiphone representative Scott Aisenbrey explained that this is an award that is only given to an individual whose accomplishments have been completely outstanding not only in the world of music, but also in their efforts to contribute help to benefits others. Calvin Ray fully deserves and has earned this award and honor as he always gives of himself for his humanitarian work and also his contributions to the music world.

Calvin also received two additional awards from BSW Records President and CEO, Frank Wilson, and Jerry Duncan Record Promotion head Jerry Duncan. The first was to commemorate the release of his first CD, “Take That Chance” and also, for his single, “Should Have Been Singing Rock of Ages” which reached # 1 in Europe.

All attendees donated their time and talent to honor Calvin Ray and to raise contribution for the MDA.
